1997 - 2007

Jane magazine, which gained fame for a blasé writing style deemed clever only by its staff, enlightening articles like “How to Tell the Perfect Lie,” and a lesbian tryst between its founder and Drew Barrymore, has passed away.

Suffering from depressed advertising and a new editor who put overexposed, under-talented people like Paris Hilton on the cover, the magazine finally died in the hands of Conde Nast Publications Chief Executive Charles Townsend today.

Jane is survived by one billion other women’s magazines currently cluttering Candy’s desk and mailbox.

The “premier” gossip column, Page Six, was left as red-faced as its many blind item targets after mistakenly reporting that Canadian crooner Michael Bublé (whose name I often just say at random and then giggle) was spotted trying to get his flirt on — and failing miserably — with The Devil Wears Prada actress Emily Blunt at a hotel in Paris.

Um, only thing is… Emily is Bublé’s (yep, I just giggled) long-time girlfriend. So she’s pretty much a sure thing. Do your homework much, Page Six?

The couple were apparently …

CBS to Don Imus: You’re Fired!

“Shock jock” Don Imus, who was already dropped by MSNBC, was fired today by CBS Radio for calling the Rutgers University’s women’s basketball team “nappy-headed hos.”

CBS head Les Moonves said in a statement:

“There has been much discussion of the effect language like this has on our young people, particularly young women of color trying to make their way in this society. That consideration has weighed most heavily on our minds as we made our decision.”

Sources say Imus is hoping to parlay his “talent” for words with other potential employers with no regard …
