A lovely story to cap off your week…
A man recently admitted himself to a Michigan hospital claiming that his wife “had a rat in her privates.” He reportedly came screaming into the emergency room with a laceration to his penis which he blamed on his loved one. Doctors decided to examine the unfortunate patient’s wife to see what the problem was — and were shocked to discover a needle lodged in her vagina. Further investigation revealed that the surgical needle had been left inside her after a recent hysterectomy.
Ouch.

A film version of Sex and the City is reportedly in the works again after negotiations with Sarah Jessica Parker, Kristin Davis, Cynthia Nixon and Kim Cattrall made significant progress this week. Previous plans for the adaptation collapsed after Cattrall refused to participate because of a rumored feud with Sarah Jessica Parker. “Obviously, there is still a lot to be worked out contractually, but it would be amazing to get this project off the ground,” said a studio insider, who also said that “substantial negotiations have opened with each of the star’s teams this …

Tom Cruise and Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) executives are resurrecting United Artists, the movie studio founded more than 80 years ago by screen legends including Charlie Chaplin and Mary Pickford. MGM executives today announced the new plans, which will have Cruise starring in and producing films for the studio.
Paramount Pictures’ boss Sumner Redstone sensationally axed his studio’s deal with Cruise earlier this year, blaming Tom’s famous couch-jumping appearance and general insanity for embarrassing the studio.
Following in Charlie Chaplin’s footsteps is a brilliant career move. Given how much trouble his yammering has caused, it’s best …

Luke Wilson has obviously lost a bet, or needs to fire his agent, or has been offered some unbelievable “perks” — because, although a source close to Wilson once declared “Luke Wilson will never do a movie with Jessica Simpson,” Luke has officially joined Jessica as part of the cast of Blonde Ambition, a loose remake of the 1988 Melanie Griffith classic Working Girl. Producer (and former Malcolm in the Middle star) Justin Berfield says the movie is “basically about a young woman’s journey into the corporate empire. She starts at the bottom …

Chicago, huh? Not the most obvious choice. Every time I see Lisa’s lips, I think Mamma Mia!

… I mean, is on to greener pastures.

Speaking of Barker’s Beauties…
Game show legend Bob Barker will tape his last episode of The Price is Right in June. He’s been the host of the popular show for 35 years.
Bob said:
“I will be 83 years old on December 12 and I’ve decided to retire while I’m still young. I’ve gone on and on and on to this ancient age because I’ve enjoyed it. I’ve thoroughly enjoyed it and I’m going to miss it.”
Producers are reportedly already searching for a replacement. Fingers crossed that Ryan Seacrest …

The Paramount chairman who fired Tom Cruise in August speaks out in the December issue of Vanity Fair about his decision. Sumner Redstone admits his wife Paula convinced him to sever the relationship and says:
“He was embarrassing the studio. And he was costing us a lot of money… Paula, like women everywhere, had come to hate him. The truth of the matter is, I did listen to her… His behavior was entirely unacceptable to Paula and to the rest of the world. He didn’t just turn one [woman] off. He turned off all women, and …
