A gorgeous Angelina Jolie, in her trademark black, and Brad Pitt — just getting his white tuxedo jacket under the Labor Day wire — graced the red carpet together at the Venice Film Festival premiere of The Assassination of Jesse James, Yadda, Yadda Yadda.
Hollywood Reporter called the film an exercise in “self-indulgence” smothered in “pointlessly long takes, repetitive scenes, grim Western landscapes and mumbled, heavily accented dialogue,” while Variety had a *slightly* different take, gushing that it’s a “ravishing, magisterial, poetic epic. . . with all the implacability of a Greek drama.”

Angelina Jolie — who doesn’t have enough to do with looking after four kids, holding benefits for Katrina victims and being an A-list actress — finally found something worthwhile to do with her time by flying to Damascus, Syria yesterday to visit a UNHCR registration center and talk to Iraqi refugees in their homes.
