Last night’s Oscar ceremony was as exciting as watching Paris Hilton staring at a box that says “orange juice concentrate,” explaining why, sadly, the biggest celebrity news to emerge from this weekend is the non-showdown between Angelina Jolie and Jennifer Aniston.

The two ladies, whose years-long “rivalry” continues to be lucrative tabloid fodder, were slated to appear at the same Warner’s pre-Oscars bash on Saturday.

Ooohhh, I love me a good diva fight! Only I’m not talking about Aretha Franklin and Beyoncé — I’m talking about Aretha and Beyoncé’s dad, Mathew (who really needs to another “T” to his name because it drives me batty).

In this morning’s news that made me giggle (and not much makes me giggle before my latte): Nic Cage is suing Kathleen Turner for accusing him of stealing a Chihuahua.

Nic’s attorney began libel proceedings against Kathleen in London’s High Court because, as you may remember, she claimed in her new autobiography Send Yourself Roses that the actor was busted for two DUIs and once stole a Chihuahua.

R&B singer Brandy Norwood’s mother has filed a lawsuit against Kim Kardashian and all of her siblings, accusing them of running up more than $120,000 in credit card charges without permission.

Kim, who was hired as Brandy’s stylist, apparently was only allowed to make one purchase. But later, Kim made unauthorized purchases and passed on Norwood’s card number to Khloe, Kourtney and Robert Jr., who also made unauthorized purchases, including items in two Kardashian family-owned clothing stores for a total of $120,636.

Kim denied the allegations, claiming she had permission to make the purchases.

Denise Richards is taking Charlie Sheen to a Los Angeles Family Court, reports PageSix, because he doesn’t want their two daughters, Sam, 3 and Lola, 2, to star in a reality show with her.

Sources says Charlie “is absolutely 100% vehemently opposed to this.”

Meanwhile, Denise wants to have Charlie’s parental rights essentially revoked in making this decision. As most of the free world knows, the couple have had ongoing custody issues ever since they split.

Alec Baldwin claims that the harsh words in his voice-mail message to his daughter was really directed at his ex-wife Kim Basinger, not at the 11-year-old herself. “I took [my anger] out on the wrong person,” Alec told Rosie & Co. yesterday during his taped appearance on The View, slated to air Friday morning.
