Having Fun with the Germans

From reader Amanduh:

Just thought you should know that a german breakfast t.v. program showed the first picture (the leg) during their gossip talk section AND they thought it was a picture of stella’s actual design! ha ha…which makes it that much more hilarious!

[Original Story]

—————————————————————————————-

Well, the Germans may not always get our sick sense of humor, but any country that serves pretzels and beer for breakfast is still tops in my book.

Mmmm… I do love me some Eisbock…

Save the Firecrotch!

If there’s one thing more trendy in Hollywood than having a DUI, it’s having a pet cause. Some celebrities support war-torn refugees. Others stand up for abused furry friends.

Holy Candy is saving the firecrotch.

Although Nicole Kidman recently lamented growing up with red hair, she should be proud to be one of the few remaining true firecrotches. You see, according to the Oxford Hair Foundation, the number of natural redheads is dwindling rapidly — and they expect them to be EXTINCT by the year 2100.

Good news for Clairol Ultress True Red Hair …

Candy Hits Hollywood Scene, Learns Who Jesse McCartney Is

jessemccartney.jpg One of the perks of being an L.A.-based celebrity blogger — besides the obvious glamour and humongous amounts of money — is being invited to fun events.

Being a newer and relatively lesser-known site, I only get invitations to parties with newer and lesser-known celebrities: e.g., Jesse McCartney, who was the “main attraction” at last night’s grand opening of restaurant/lounge The Beach on Sunset in West Hollywood. Although being within four feet of Jesse does make me infinitely cooler, according to my 8-year-old niece. …

Small-Town-Girl-Done-Good Story Gone Terribly, Terribly Wrong

Loyal Holy Candy reader, jewed, requested that I post the big-haired high school picture that my local newspaper cruelly published. I know most of you are significantly more interested in the latest Paris Hilton nip slip than my tale of woe, so for the 99% of you who fall into that category, you’ll want to skip this post. But for jewed… I was able to dig it up and have posted it for her twisted enjoyment (and my utter embarrassment).

To give you some more background, the paper interviewed me about my then-new writing gig at The Bold and the Beautiful and the reporter — likely a college intern pissed that he had to interview some silly soap opera writer instead of covering the real action at the Central Pennsylvania Farm Show — asked me for a few pictures. I happily obliged, even taking some pictures of myself “working” at my computer, pretending to whip up the latest tear-jerking scene between Brooke and Ridge.

I must admit, I was rather pleased with myself. “Oh, won’t my parents be proud when they see THIS?” I thought.

Cut to a few weeks later when my mom calls me. “So, do you want the good news or the bad news?” she asked ominously. Oh, God. “The good news… you’re on the front page!” But I was too distracted bracing myself for the bad: “They used your high school senior picture.”

Click below to see why my heart sunk a million times over.
