PEOPLE FOOD

Sitting in my local coffee shop, I began flipping through the savings coupon section of the Sunday newspaper. I noticed several coupons for dog food and dog treats mixed in with the typical junk food offerings for humans: Hungry Man, Toaster Strudels, Lunchables, and Campbell’s Chunky Soup….shudder….

A glossy new celebrity tabloid is scheduled to hit the stands this spring – because the world doesn’t have nearly enough of them – and the editors were kind enough to send a few preview issues for exclusive promotion on Gallery of the Absurd and Holy Candy.

Exquisite Corpse: Madonna

I just finished another round of Exquisite Corpse with some of my blogger pals. Jason from Doodle Whore completed Madge’s midsection and gave careful attention to her sinewy arms and exotic accessory orphan. Handsome Gilmore from Pretty on the Outside captured one of Madonna’s iconic poses: thrusting her spandex-clad pelvis in the faces of her worshipping fans. I did her head.

Be careful when celebrating your New Years Eve festivities - don’t drink too much of that Paris Hilton champagne in a can or else you might find yourself naked, covered in gold paint, and slithering across an arid Martian landscape as you pine for your lost inheritance. Not a good way to start the year. Medium: graphite, watercolor and gouache in sketchbook. UPDATE: Posting will resume on January …

Britney Spears Sits For Her Digital Portrait

I messed around on ArtPad’s digital canvas today while having my morning coffee and this is the monstrosity I created. Similar to a dumbed down wacom tablet, the digital canvas allows you to paint your masterpiece as it records your brushstrokes. Once you’ve completed your magnum opus, save and send the link to your pals and they can watch in awe as your masterpiece unfolds before their eyes. Or they can press “delete”. Watch my painting …

I spent the entire day today walking all over San Francisco taking photos of early winter. Heading up the steep streets toward The Presidio, the damp mist intensified the wafting scent of eucalyptus and …
