Portrait of a Waffle House Warrior

A recent editorial illustration I did for the Metro Pulse has made an appearance on Kid Rock’s official website. Oh dear, I hope he doesn’t stumble out of a Waffle House and come looking for me. Medium: graphite, digital color.

  1. this has greatest hits album-cover potential. just throw in a couple broken beer bottles and greasy strippers.

  2. I am suprised he knows what a website is–even more so that he has one.

    Don’t let Kid fool you–he’s a very sharp biz-man.

14–wow, fantastic work, as always! Love the buckle!

Try steering clear of those Waffle Houses for a spell, Miss 14.

Jane, you gotta watch out for Drunk Typing–try easing off the Vodka around 3 a.m, that’s what I used to do.

    Oh my, Bunky!!!! Hello!!!

Bunky, dearest, I think you’ve been over-generous in estimating his I.Q. at 13…or did you mean 4? The thumb DOES count as a digit, no?

  13. Adam Smith

    A gentlemen and a scholar.

With his thorough commitment to the tenets of logical positivism, and the cognitvely meaningful as a finite proposition,he knocked my somewhat metaphysical and ethical stance for six.

After hours of debate all he had to say was “It’s like that and that’s the way it is”,(a direct quote from Run Dmc),and the veil was lifted from my eyes.Years of chasing endless tautologies, paradoxes, and inconclusive questions, suddenly came to an end.

He helped me see the world for what it truly is.

His music sucks arse but I will forgive him for that.
In years to come,I feel he will be remembered for his contribution to understanding systems of knowledge, rather than his piss poor tunes.

I’ve always gotten great kicks out of Kid’s behavior. And when he applies himself, he can produce a decent song. He’s a fine entertainer. Interviews with him are hilarious.

(Aside: The Stars and Bars thing is so deliberately and excruciatingly racist, it isn’t funny. Even in parody. Quite perfect that it is his belt buckle.)

  15. The oily sheen to his skin has been captured with cringe-worthy detail. Magnificent.

I can’t say anything bad about Kid Rock. He did an interview on Howard Stern a few months back and I found him to be intelligent, well spoken and highly believable about what a money grubbing biyotch Pamela Anderson is. I believed eveything he said. Unless he’s a really great liar, he was extremely likable.
