Ooohhh, I love me a good diva fight! Only I’m not talking about Aretha Franklin and Beyoncé — I’m talking about Aretha and Beyoncé’s dad, Mathew (who really needs to another “T” to his name because it drives me batty).
A day after Aretha actually released a statement (!) in protest of Beyoncé calling Tina Turner the “queen” during their Grammys performance, Mathew has struck back.
Aretha sniffed that, “I am not sure of whose toes I may have stepped on or whose ego I may have bruised between the Grammy writers and Beyoncé, however I dismissed it as a cheap shot for controversy.” (Say wha –?!)
And Papa Knowles felt inclined to lash back by releasing a statement of his own on this clearly love-filled Valentine’s day: “Something this ridiculous – it’s childish, it’s unprofessional… it’s a sad day when egos get bruised because somebody used the word king, queen, prince or princess.”
In response, Aretha’s breasts and Beyoncé’s hair said, “Yeah? Well, what about our bruised egos?” while Tina’s legs laughed, “Oh, we reign over all these bitches, all right.”

Long live Tina!! She looks fabulous.
I also love Aretha, however weird her
comments.
These are two music titans. (Oh, o.k.,
one of them is, perhaps, more titanic than
the other).
Let’s give Aretha a pass, and hope this
doesn’t devolve into some goofy gossip war
of words.

Did Beyonce call Tina the queen of soul? Nope. Just ‘the Queen’ and I think on a night that Tina was being honoured she deserved the title. Aretha is being petty.

OK now i seriously can’t take it. Aretha is a gorgeous woman???? She’s a talented woman, and an amazing artist, and she changed music, but really. I am agreeing with MMB now. Or I am still trying to tell myself that there is sarcasm involved.
