No Bald Ambition for Dakota Fanning

Dakota Fanning has pulled out of the movie My Sister’s Keeperbecause she refuses to shave her head.

The film, co-starring Cameron Diaz and Alec Baldwin, follows a young girl who files for legal separation from her parents after discovering she was only conceived to help prolong the life of her sick sister. But 13-year-old Dakota withdrew from the project after learning the role would require her to lose her blonde locks, and took her nine-year-old sister Elle, who was also set to star in the movie, with her. They will now be replaced by Sofia Vassilieva and the adorable Abigail Breslin.

Nice cover, Dakota, but I know why you really pulled out — hell, I’d be afraid to work with Alec, too! Every day, you’d get voice-mails saying, “YOU THOUGHTLESS LITTLE PIG! YOU ATE THE LAST DONUT ON THE CRAFT SERVICES TABLE!”

i’m probably going to hell for saying this, but i think those girls look a little creepy. dakota looks like she’s possessed or something.

    The little sister is adorable!

Her little sister may be adorable, but she is shooting the finger. I hope without knowing it, but kids these days….

  4. Um, why didn’t they tell her about bald caps. That thin hair could just get soaped up (soap makes it flatter for the cap) and then vi-o-la, kid’s bald without shaving her head.

exactly what i was thinking, kelly. something else must be going on with this story.

(and i just remembered the snl skit when drew barrymore was hosting - - the dakota fanning show…she was annoyed that people are praising abigail for her acting…it was really funny…probably on youtube. interesting that abigail ended up with this role…)

I agree with the bald cap thing and also, even though Dakota didn’t want to do the movie, why did she have to make her sister lose a job, too?

  8. I totally agree with you guys–something smells $cientologist.

  9. They look like well-adjusted kids. Just hope that’s not Hollywood water.

For what it’s worth, I recommend the book ‘My Sister’s Keeper’ by Jodi Picault.

  11. It’s a shame that they won’t be doing the movie. Dakota is a very good actress (just my opinion). It is too bad that something couldn’t be worked out.

On the other hand, I have high hopes for Abigail Breslin. I don’t think she’ll disappoint.
