Make room on your book shelves, because Mom-of-the-Year Lynne Spears‘ book is still happening. However, Pop Culture Mom: A Real Story of Fame and Family in a Tabloid World, is not a parenting book according to the book’s publisher, Thomas Nelson, Inc.:
“From the onset, the media have inaccurately reported that Lynne Spears’ book is a parenting book. I’m sure this helps fuel tabloid readership, but it is simply not true. Lynne’s memoir will provide a window into the real-life world of fame and worldly success, including the toll it extracts from some who aspire to it. It will provide a much-needed corrective to a world obsessed with the wrong priorities.”
The publisher continued, “We believe in redemption. Therefore, we are standing with Lynne and her family during this difficult time. Though the book has been delayed, we believe God is at work.”
God is at work? Methinks Thomas Nelson is at work — Thomas Nelson’s publicity department, that is! Well, I’m afraid Thomas Nelson is hitching its cart to the wrong gravy train. No one cares what Mama Lynne has to say. After Lisa Whelchel’s fascinating insight into the Jamie Lynn situation, I want to know what nuggets of wisdom The Facts of Life gals have to impart!
