So a Blonde Walks Onto a Plane…

… and almost gets kicked off for wearing this:

Sure, you can almost see her baby-maker, but… isn’t that status quo these days? Hell, I can’t even tell the difference between a shirt and a dress in stores anymore. (Which may explain some of the strange looks I’ve been getting lately, but I digress…)

Anyway. A Southwest attendant apparently approached the 23-year-old college student and Hooters waitress and said: “I’m sorry, but you’re going to have to take a later flight. You’re dressed inappropriately. This is a family airline. You’re dressed too provocative to fly on this flight.” She didn’t have a change of clothes with her, so he suggested the gift shop — but they finally reached a compromise when she pulled up her top and tugged down her (what appears to be) five-inch skirt.

Afterward, she demanded an apology, but never got it — which is why she went on the Today show to share her tale of woe with micro mini-skirt advocate Matt Lauer.

She wore the same outfit for the return flight and, ironically, was complimented on her attire by another flight attendant. She must be one smart cookie, because I know if I had been humiliated for wearing a slutty outfit on a flight (by someone besides my mom, I mean), I would certainly wear the SAME outfit on my next flight. Wise move!

Oh, boy… I’m actually taking a Southwest flight tomorrow. For real. I wonder if my sweats will be too provocative for them? They do have a small tear near a potentially dangerous area. Damn. Now I’m back to square one with my travel attire. Those sweats were the cornerstone of my ensemble!

That’s ridiculous. That’s how everyone at college dresses.

  2. Happy Go Lucky

She clearly had to pull the skirt down…she’s borderline flashing (on the top. thank god her tank is long!)

While I think that flight attendant was a moron - she’s dressed (if you can call it that) like an idiot. Not only is the whole cropped layered look several years old (and it was ugly then) but seriously…that’s not even a skirt, it’s just pockets.

I am offended by that skirt!!! How dare she wear that thing in public!!! This is just wrong!!! Selfish and morally bankrupt!!!

The point is…her skirt is too long!!! I’m mean, try to think about the needs of the rest of us ladies, and start wearing those skirts a little higher for a change!!!

  5. Zip

PS–Just six inches higher, or more, and this skirt would have been perfect!!! No wonder why the flight attendant was complaining!!!

  6. KAT

NOT ONLY IS HER “SKIRT” WAY TOO SHORT,(MORE LIKE A LONG SHIRT) SHE LOOKS LIKE A BLOND VERSION OF THE “WICKED WITCH OF THE WEST” , AND SHE LOOKS 45, NOT ONLY TWENTY THREE!!! HE SHOULD HAVE ASKED HER TO ALSO PUT A BAG OVER HER HEAD!!!!!

  7. Julie

LOL @ Kat!! I didn’t think she was very attractive either.

Kat beat me to it. She should have more covering her face. I guess her clothes explain her insecurity with herself, she needs to compensate for what she lacks in beauty. All kinding aside though, I agree that the outfit is hideous and 20 years from now she will probably be saying “what was I thinking?” (or maybe not) but I don’t think an airline could kick her off the plane for that. Unless she had the skirt up higher and you could see body parts. What are we going to do with today’s youth people, LOL????

Of course, you left out the best part of the Today show appearance. Apparently when she sat down, they had to utilize a digital blurry spot to obliterate her…er, “cookie,” which doesn’t exactly strengthen her “there’s nothing wrong with this outfit!” position.

Then again, I’m not sure they should be throwing chicks off planes for displaying their baked goods when they don’t throw men off planes for having BO that could make your eyes bleed, or for wearing ridiculous unbuttoned shirts that show entirely too much mantito.

    Kat,

    You read my mind……

    Ewwww

I saw her in a interviews on Inside Edition where she looks her age. You have to see a close-up. But in stills, some people don’t photograph right, it’s just a fact.

Still…you ladies wear your skirts too long…not too short!!!

I almost lost my dinner. Been way too busy to watch Matt help the latest “helpless” teen or 20-something redeem herself on the TV since Miss Teen USA. This girl would have to dress like that, sadly, in order to get any guy to look at her twice. “But it’s how all the girls my age are dressing” or whatever other bs she uses as an excuse. Sha! And go figure she is a waitress at such a classy joint like Hooters. Must have been the most difficult thing for her to have to encounter to be told to put some clothes on and not get a tip instead. Are you sure she flew on her return flight on SWA and not Hooters Airlines? I would only dress like that if I were desperate or Miss Hilton. And if that is how the girls in college are dressing and/or feel like they must dress, I thank God then that I was born in another generation.

The girl is not very attractive and clearly does what she can to distract people from looking at her face (big fake boobs, provocative dress, etc., etc.), however the point is…this is not Afghanistan. SW does not have a dress code. The SW employee had no right whatsoever to do that. This has nothing to do with being “%$^#&$&^ family friindly.” I can’t wait till they asart throwing people off flights for what they are reading, listening to, watching, etc.

Eh, you can only wear skirts that short if you know how to sit, walk, and move around in them. If she flashes her goods everytime she sits, then she obviously doesnt know how to sit in a skirt and shouldnt wear it. I’m in college and i wear skirts that short a lot during summer and i dont flash ANYONE. And wearing a short skirt on a flight is a horrible idea, i always have to move around on the plane seats so if i was wearing a skirt it would be up to my waist by the time i was done. But i’m smart and know my limits on dresscode so i dont wear skirts on planes.
Silly silly silly girl she is

  15. What’s up with Matt lauer defending all these young ladies? This woman, Ms. Teen USA South Carolina…

    hmm.
