Madonna’s controversial adoption of David Banda just keeps getting more difficult, as accusations arise that the child welfare expert overseeing the adoption has become “too close to the case.”
Penstone Kilembe has been banned by the Malawian government from traveling to Britain to review the progress of 23-month-old David — because Madonna paid for his plane ticket after he claimed social services did not have enough cash to pay for the visits.
The development could result in the adoption being called off, according to the Daily Mail.
The High Court of Malawi originally appointed Kilembe to travel to the UK to monitor how David was settling into his new family life. There was strong speculation that he might judge Madonna’s high-profile lifestyle and media attention unsuitable for the youngster.
Okay, so let me get this straight. Malawi couldn’t pay for the in-home visits they require in order to adopt — so they’re going to punish Madonna for ensuring the visits DO happen. And even if they DID happen, Madonna may not even be able to keep the child because her “high-profile lifestyle,” which enables David to lead a comfortable life, is “unsuitable” — so they’ll send him back the country that couldn’t even afford to visit him, where he’ll live in a poverty-stricken orphanage?
Makes sense to me.
Well, Madonna, if it doesn’t work out, I know a needy blogger in Los Angeles who would be THRILLED to inherit your money, er… I mean, be adopted by you. Not only does West Hollywood have lenient adult adoption laws, but her parents are MORE than willing to sign the papers. Or so they’ve told her all her life…

Madonna should have known better but it’s ridiculous they would even think of taking him away. She’s saved a child’s life. Period.
