Mr. Winfrey Wants That Father’s Day Tie, After All

In spite of yesterday’s report, Oprah Winfrey’s father, Vernon, says is not writing a tell-all about his world-famous daughter’s wild childhood.

“There is no book,” he told TV Guide, denying high-profile reports that he’s been peddling a memoir titled Things Unspoken. “We might think about it later on,” he added.

Although the philanthropist/high priestess of all things media has said she has a good relationship with her dad and talks to him all the time, Oprah was apparently surprised by the rumored memoir. So did she talk to him about possibly not doing the book? “No,” Vernon insists. “It’s just on hold right now, OK?”

Translation: Somebody’s bank account statement has a few more digits in it today.

    Oprah gave him the smackdown!!!

Rush and Malloy claims he said the book was on hold at this time and might be considered later. Hopefully Vernon knows that if you lie to Oprah, your a** goes straight to Hell.

    That was certainly fast backpedaling.
