“Shock jock” Don Imus is known for his inflammatory remarks, but recently reached a new low, even for him.
The “Imus In The Morning” host ignited a Michael Richards-like racial uproar on his WFAN and MSNBC show this week when he labeled the Rutgers women’s basketball team “nappy-headed ho’s” after their loss in the NCAA Championship game to Tennessee.
The exchange went like this:
IMUS: “That’s some rough girls from Rutgers. Man, they got tattoos …”
SHOW PRODUCER: “Some hard-core hos.”
IMUS: “That’s some nappy-headed hos there, I’m going to tell you that.”
CANDY: Dude. White guys have no business saying “nappy.” Certainly not in conjunction with “ho.” It is the other “N” word, after all.

And there is a lot of bad stuff out there all throught the media, like CSI (and what not) which dress violence and cruelty as a replacement for sexuality…much like the Torture Porn in movies like Saw…Hostel and Grindhouse. Well, that’s what Hate Radio is…violence designed to appeal to the caveman in all of us…but it’s a warped view. Jessee Jackson used the term race police and it made me want to jump up a slap the snot out of his face. People are allowed to be racist as long as they within the law of equality, people are allowed to listen to what they like, and any group that tries to define contrary should not be viewed as anything besides sinister.
This is our culture, not the culture of 70 year old men on washington, who are they to have any advice for us on racism? How do they know what is in the hearts of younger americans? These words have lost their meaning within our youth pop culture because our youth pop culture no longer sees race as a limiting factor. And the same goes for sexism. We go through school with females achieving typically better grades, having intellectual conversation on all elvels, there is simply no room within a person of any reason to be sexist or racist.
This whole contraversy was a misguided mess that happened because everyone was afraid of standing in front of the snowball that was rolling towards don imus.
