After it was widely reported that Lisa Kudrow would be joining the new Grey’s Anatomy spinoff, she apparently told producers “thanks, but no thanks” once she read the pilot script.
Lisa was clamoring to return to a top-rated TV series after the failure of her underrated HBO show The Comeback. But the former Friends star quickly realized she wasn’t going to be happy with her role on the Grey’s spinoff.
“Bottom line is that she didn’t want to play second banana to Kate Walsh,” says a source. “Lisa was in one of the most successful ensemble shows of all time, and what she really wants is to be the star of her own series.”
Lisa’s departure opened the door for Judging Amy star Amy Brenneman, who will replace Lisa in the highly anticipated ABC series.
Hmmm… Lisa may want to have a little chat with Rob Lowe, who turned down the role of McDreamy in hopes of finding something “better” — and ended up settling for a guest starring role on Brothers and Sisters, while Patrick Dempsey’s star soared.

I don’t think Lisa needs the money. Bsides all the money she made on Friends, those guys still get hefty payments in from residuals. I hope she holds out for something really good. I always loved her on Friends.

It’s like that Katherine Heigel, she’s good and all but I don’t really believe her as a doctor. I guess that’s why they are not giving her the money she wants.
