Sure sounds that way.
E! News claims that the real tension on Dreamgirls was not between Beyoncé Knowles and her costar, Jennifer Hudson, as had been widely reported — but rather between Jennifer and Beyoncé’s dad, Matthew. Apparently, things soured between the Knowles family and Ms. Hudson because Daddy Knowles tried unsuccessfully to woo the former American Idol contestant as a client to his management company.
“He tried to sign her halfway through production of Dreamgirls because he wanted to be her manager,” a source says, “but Jennifer turned him down. That’s when things really went south.”
Daddy Knowles was so insulted by her refusal to sign with him (the nerve!), that he demanded the movie be re-edited to lessen Hudson’s screen time and boost Beyoncé’s. He argued that his daughter was being shortchanged, but was rebuffed by the studio and the filmmakers. Even Mama Knowles chimed in, telling director Bill Condon that he “ruined” the movie for her daughter: “It was supposed to be her Oscar role,” Tina reportedly hissed.
As for Beyoncé and Jennifer, a source close to Dreamgirls says they get along just fine. “It’s the dad,” the source said. “He’s just like Curtis, Jamie Foxx’s character in Dreamgirls.”
Note to self: When I embark on Oscar or Grammy-hopeful career, do not hire dad. Or let mom design my inevitable apparel empire, House of Candy. The woman could barely sew the badges onto my Girl Scout sash.

Trust your parents Candy!!! Usher’s mom is managing him, and he is doing just fine. However, in Beyonce’s case, both she and her parents are nuts!!! They all have a long and horrible rep. That is the real reason why Jennifer hudson told that weirdo Papa Knowles to get lost. He only wanted to sign Jennifer in a predatory move in order to diminish her role in the movie, so she would be less competition for his no acting daughter, who deserves a Raspberry Award…not an Academy Award. Look what this evil family of grifters did to all the original members of Destiny’s Child and their numerous replacements. They destroyed, and or, tried to destroy the careers of each and every one of them. Check into the story of Latoya Luckett. Boy, Beyonce and her grifter parents really messed her, and the other girl they kicked out of the group, over. Latoya is just now recovering after what I suspect was a black listing in the industry…and the other girl is still out of work!!! If Hollywood wants to do a really good eye opening movie about a girl group…forget Dream Girls…do a movie called “Destiny’s Child: The Unauthorized Story” staring Jennifer Hudson as Latoya Luckett…and Matthew Knowles…the new Ike Turner!!!
