To continue Holy Candy’s weekly tradition of celebrating Hump Day with a “Hump Hall of Shame” honoree — who has, at one point or another, entertained us with a history-making humping scandal — I present to you:
Hugh Grant was arrested in 1995 for illegally acquiring the oral services of West Hollywood prostitute Divine Brown in a parked BMW. At the time, he was dating beautiful actress Elizabeth Hurley, making the scandal all the more juicy and baffling. And, unlike most scandal-ridden celebrities in those days, Hugh decided to take the time-untested path of high-profile public apologies, starting with his now-infamous appearance on The Tonight Show.
Of course, The Tonight Show is so 1995. Today Hugh would have to hit the new celebrity whiners’ hotspot, The Oprah Winfrey Show.
Anyway, kudos to Hugh!
