The end of summer may also mean the end of Seth and Summer. According to two not particularly reliable sources, The O.C.’s real life so-cute-you-just-want-to-squeeze-their-cheeks couple, Rachel Bilson and Adam Brody, may be on the rocks.

My Kinda Place claims Rachel was spotted out with former boy bander JC Chasez this week, fueling rumours that she and nerdy-chic Brody are on a break — rumors that come on the heels of last week’s sightings of Rachel getting cozy with inexplicable bachelor-about-town Zach Braff.

And as Life & Style reports, Rachel and JC were even spotted out on a double date with Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz:

Rachel has been painting the town on both coasts with former ‘NSync singer JC Chasez, 30. The two first hit the scene in late August, partying in NYC at the MTV VMAs. Then on Sept. 19, Rachel and JC double dated with Justin Timberlake and Cameron Diaz.

Sounds like drama ripped from the pages of an O.C. script — circa Season One, when the show was actually entertaining. Only this time, it’s not Marissa who ODs in Tijuana –it’s the couple’s poor pitbull, Penny Lane, who seeks solace in spiked bones and starts hanging out with the wrong crowd (led by the Queen Bee, Tinkerbell), as a result of her broken home.
